I want to keep mice away from my garage, but I don’t want to use any toxins or traps. I am wondering if these ultrasonic pest repellents really work. I have a dog and I would be worried about what effect constant ultrasonic bombardment would have on him, and even on myself and my girlfriend. I have read that these systems affect the nervous system of the animals and I don’t want my "feeding and communication systems" to be affected.

My 86 year old grandmother has had a yorki-poo that she adores for the past two years without any problems. About two weeks ago, the dog bit her hand when she startled it while it was napping on the couch. The bite required medical attention and since then she has been afraid of the dog. It seems to have "rule" over her house (she lives alone) and sometimes will growl at her when she tries to get into the bed. After the dog bit her a second time, we tried to relocate the dog to a different home, but she missed it too terribly to not get it back and became very, very depressed. The people who took the dog for a few days said the dog nipped at them as well.
A dog trainer has visited her home to try to help with the situation, but has not seemed to do any good. Please keep in mind her age and how it is hard for her to remember to be stern.
Does anyone have any easy-to-follow methods that might help an 86 year old woman better handle her nippy dog? Keep in mind, that she is afraid to handle him a lot and so putting him in a cage is probably not something should could handle. Also she cannot put "bitter apple" or any other type of deterrent on her hand, because even a little bite from the dog bruises her skin very easily.
This is a very sweet dog that I feel might just be easily agitated. Any help from experienced little dog owners would be very appreciated. Thank you!
We are a fairly young family. I’m 23, the wife’s 22. We have a three year old son. We plan on having another baby 4-5 years down the road. We are just in the researching phase now for a dog. We will be moving into a house at the end of 2011. The house if fairly large, about 2300 sq. feet. With a medium/average size yard (a little under an acre). I completely understand that there is no such thing as a bad dog, just a bad owner…but this question is generally speaking….
What is best for a young family like ours. Our son will be 4 yrs old when we get the dog. We will bring another infant into the picture 3-4 yrs after getting the dog. Both me and my wife work out more than average. 3 mile runs about 3x a week. I would definitely like a family dog that will protect both my family and property if need be. I completely understand that I have to train children how to act around animals. I work full time as a cop. My wife works part time at the airport.
What dog do you feel is best for my fairly active family with small children. Oh, and I love to go fishing….
just fyi……I’ve never done a burglary report at a residence that had a dog inside……A security alarm isn’t a deterrent, it just rushes the criminal…there’s still a 1-2 min window there.
Some ads for the wall-mountable no-bark devices say they have an ultrasonic setting where only dogs can hear it, but I’ve read reviews by people that say that you can hear it. Any suggestions? Thanks.
This is an on going problem I am having with my neighbor and their two dogs for the past 2 years, every time I am in my back yard or even open the door to throw something out this is the welcome I get. When I am inside the house day and night they also bark non-stop at every car, person, animal, leaf or dust that goes by. Figured I should start recording to have evidence and also figured I would share on here to see if anyone else has the same issues and please if you did, tell me how you resolved it. Thanks for watching, hope you sleep better then I do. More vids to come!
Like do they see who all lives there, if they have dogs, what times they are gone..? Or do alot of people just break in randomly? I just moved into a bad neighborhood unfortunately. And when I was moving stuff inside I saw some neighbors checking out my electronic stuff, and not checking it out in a good way. I have a pit and a mastiff that they havent seen yet. Not that my dogs would do a thing but hopefully would scare someone away,
www.antibarkingdevicesshop.com to put a stop to noisy barking dogs. Those of us who have dogs, we love them, but can’t stand their uncontrollable barking. I don’t like shock collars or citronella collars. I don’t want to hurt them, I just want the barking to stop. The Dog Silencer Pro is the ultimate solution to solving all barking noises.
