www.acedogsupplies.com.au Remote Dog Trainer Review of the Petsafe Deluxe Big Dog Trainer PDBDT-305. If you have a dog which is 18kg or greater and need a remote trainer to help with general obedience, then the Big Dog Remote trainer may be one for you to consider. With a range of 90m it’s perfect for use in you back yard and around your home.
I was searching the web a while back and stumbled upon a device that you stick in the frame of the door and it emits a sound the dog doesn’t like so it keeps them from running out the front door. It was relatively cheap too… sadly I didn’t purchase it and now I really wish I had. My dog can run like no tomorrow and once he’s free he likes to stay that way (LOVES to run). I can’t remember what it’s called and every time I search for it I only come up with these ultrasonic devices you put in the door that activate a shock collar on the dog. I’m just looking for the simple sound deterrent that uses some frequency dogs don’t like… no collar or shocking involved. Does ANYONE know what I’m talking about?
Well there definitely is such a thing because I almost bought it… We’ve probably spent a couple grand on obedience classes already. He’s just that stubborn. The renowned instructor even said we have a difficult dog LOL Yes we’ve used the leash. Yes we’ve stood there and repeatedly gone over it with him. He’s just stubborn and I can’t exactly keep him on a chain in the house! He’s making me broke and exhausted from chasing him blocks at a time. Even when I don’t chase him he just goes off exploring anyway cause it’s fun. And no that’s not safe, he’s not smart about cars- has almost been hit on a few occasions. We do have a big fenced in back yard but that’s apparently not enough. We move regularly (military) so haven’t gone as far as electronic fences. I’d just like something to block the front door… darn dog… maybe I’ll just barricade the door and start using the window lol
My neighbor has this little chihuahua that likes to climb on a wall that separates our backyards using the shed in his backyard. For the last 3 weeks this dogs has been climbing on that wall and pretty much annoyed the hell out of me (as you can see from the video). Every time I get closer to the wall, the dog runs away, but soon as I get back into the house it climbs back and continues to bark. So what I decided to do was get closer to the dog without scaring him away. Every time the dog looked away I would make a step forward, and then finally when I was close enough I was able to come behind the wall and scare the sh*t out of the dog….since I pulled this off, the dog never climbed on that wall again! Neighbors dog never shuts up. Anti-dog barking devices don’t work, I tried that already. I don’t want to talk to them, I’m afraid they will be vindictive. Police have handed the barking dog problem off to animal control who are useless. For animal control to do anything other than send a notice, you have to give your name & address which I don’t want to do. Can’t contact the HOA, they are on the board. The dog barks when they ARE HOME, not when they are away so I can’t videotape it happening. Please help!
If I call Animal Control they want a name & address. Should I give a false name & makeup an address? What is they look it up & see it doesn’t exist?
If you think I’m buying the nasty thing a toy, you are crazy.
I don’t know if anyone saw my question about my cat and condoms (already solved), but since everyone had such useful advice, I thought that I would let you guys have a crack at my dog.
Our bedroom had started to smell odd recently. I couldn’t find anything that would be making it stink until I looked under the bed. Under there was a bunch of my dirty underwear and some used feminine hygiene products. Can anyone tell me why my dog would like to chew this stuff up?
I have had to buy more underwear in the year since I got her than I did in the 5 years before! She’s not grabbing stuff from in the laundry basket. It’s way too tall for her. I think she’s actually grabbing my underwear while I’m taking a shower. Any suggestions of something I could use as a deterrent to keep my dog away from the laundry, shower, and garbages? Oh, and please not get a lidded garbage. She has figured out how to get into that (that’s how the cat got the condom in the first place).
NOT cats, or other small animals,or rodents… to be used as a training aid. Can’t seem to find one on ebay? Any ideas? And NOT a shock collar type thing!!! Just a sound wave device.
No, not a dog whistle, I’m talking about something battery powered, about the size of half your palm..I’ve seen this somewhere..
Thanks lovemylab, but it’s not barking I need to control, and it must not need a collar or affect cats or rodents.
Okay this is probably a really stupid question lol.
My dog wears 2 tags, & they cling against each other & make that annoying noise. If I put a tag silencer on just one of them will they be quiet, or will I need a tag silencer for each tag?
The Animal Away Ultra Sound Device is a weather proof animal repeller built for use outside or inside the home. Using batteries for power, this unit is totally silent and ideally suited for small areas.
January 14, 2010 – sometime during the afternoon. Standing inside my back door; the dog had been going on and on for hours at the fence less than 50 feet from my back door. The neighbors never came out to see what the racket was about…
