Ahh, my Boo Boy’s (RIP) favorite summertime activity. I found a $1.99 can of Repell that I sprayed along the garden’s perimeter to form a boundary that I didn’t want him to enter into. It is a spray, so if it gets hit by the automatic sprinkers every day you have to re-apply every couple of days. They don’t like the smell and eventually stop going there. (I already tried, cayenne pepper, tobasco sauce, dried mustard which didn’t phase him). But, Repell worked for Boo after about a week when he decided that the lounge chairs with their soft cushions were more comfortable and less work that digging. I found the Repell in the doggie aisle at WalMart, but have seen it at Pet Co and online at Foster’s Smith Vetrinarian Catalog
ahh. First you have to catch him in the act and just say NO and lead him to another place. Dogs love to do that in the summer.
You could also put some rocks there, that would make it too much of a hassle.
