dog silencer
My neighbor has been complaining about my small dogs barking when I am not home. I have bought several items, including the Bark Off, which do no good to stop or even cut down on their barking. We live in a high traffic area that is close to a high school. There are teenagers walking by during much of the day and my dogs bark at them. I don’t want to have to get rid of my MinPin and Chihuahua.
I got the Dog Silencer Pro and set it up on our patio. I cannot tell that it is doing anything. According to the instructions it looks like it has to be pointing directly towards the dog in order to work. The instructions said it would not work through fences, walls, windows or doors & it may take up to at least 3 weeks before I notice anything. I have 30 days to replace it.
Although they say it should also stop nearby dogs from barking, I don’t see how that would be possible since all of our dogs have to be inside a fence or our home.
I would appreicate hearing about any experiences you have had, both good and bad, with various products used to stop your dog from barking.
Oh yes, I sure wish the Bark Off had worked; but, I got no results from using it. Does anyone have suggestions as to things I could be doing wrong?
I appreciate all replies.

ultrasonic dog
Hi, I got a ultra sonic bark collar for my dog and fortunately he does not like the sound (I have friends whose dogs totally shrug off the sound) but unfortunately this collar is going off even if he bumps into things so he is getting really paranoid. I like the collar because with a 9v battery it has lasted months (unlike some other collars, esp shock ones) but I could use something that say takes vibration into account before sounding off (ok, and something that escalates the sound if he continues barking would be nice as there have been a few occasions where he does shrug it off [only about 3 times in 4 months so far]).
For the record, I have found the perfect collar (http://www.amazon.com/SportDOG-Rechargeable-NoBark-Control-Collar/dp/B00173CWDW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1295088958&sr=8-7) rechargeable, can escalate, etc… except its a shock collar (For my dog I know that the ultrasonic one is sufficient)
Hmmm, apparently there are some ESL’ers reading this. I found, did not buy the shock collar, it is perfect in its functions except it shocks. As for the training, we have tried, for months now, has not worked.

Okay, Ive had a lot of rescue dogs but this one has me stumped. I cant stop her barking. She barks at everything & nothing, but only when shes in the yard. She stops as soon as we go outside. We ignored her completely for 6 weeks, that didnt work & the neighbours complained. Its not boredom barking & I’ve been paying attention but there is no specific trigger to this. Ive tried shouting, hitting her with the newspaper, an ultrasonic collar & a remote control spray collar. Nothing worked & Im at my wits end.
she is outside with 2 other dogs. I cant keep them in the house for reasons I wont go into to, but we do bring them in when we are home. they have access to a warm shed with soft beds, they can get out & in as they please. also, this dog is a rescue case, she has never slept inside so I doubt thats what her problem is. in fact, this is the most company she has ever had.
& i maybe should have specified that we ignored the barking for 6 weeks, we didnt constantly ignore the dog for 6 weeks. she gets loads of attention & affection & a lot of exercises.

dog deterrent
I have two very large vegetable gardens, both with fences as tall as I am, with additional chicken wire for extra protection. Yet still, the plants were in the garden for only a couple hours and were eaten to the ground. This is my first year at my new house, at my old house I had completely animal proofed my garden (multiple fence barriers, human & dog hair around borders, etc, and I even made a fishing line contraption which seemed to work extremely well). I *thought* that my new garden was very animal proof (as much as you can, anyway). I also have an incredible amount of snakes in my gardens, to the point that I have to watch where I step, which I thought would be a deterrent to any little critters. Our neighbors cat also spends endless hours snoozing around the fences. We live in a very wooded area, with pretty much every animal you can think of.
Some of the other things I do to keep them out: Marigolds, chives plants, human & animal hair around borders, sprinkling garlic powder & cayenne pepper.
So basically looking for any new suggestions on keeping animals away!

I have a military dog tag but the metal lace it came with hangs way too low – down to my chest.
i want something neck-level but can fit through the tiny holes that tether the tag. here, for example:

neighbors barking dog
O.k. this is not an exaggeration when I say our neighbors dog barks 24/7. I am not blaming the dog, trust me. They leave it out in the cold which is why it barks so freaking much! Guess what wakes us up at 5 in the morning, every morning, every day? The dog. We have already spoken to them about this & it stopped for about a month but it has continued.. for a good 2 years at least. It is beginning to drive us all insane, & is just plain rude. My question is, is there anyone we can call about this? I’m scared to call somewhere because I don’t want them to take away the dog, and then hurt it, or kill it. I just think she should be in a safe home where she doesn’t get treated like crap. They are always screaming at her too. Anyone know who to call, who wouldn’t hurt the dog? Thank you!
It is barking as I type this…

ultrasonic dog repeller
Bell & Howell have some out that claim to repel ants, roaches, rats, mice, by just plugging them into an electrical outlet, also Good Life and Black & Decker puts them out. They ‘say’ not to use them if you have hamsters, gerbils, etc, but that they are safe for dogs & cats. I wish they’d make something like this for fleas, However, they are not all that inexpensive but if they work, they’d be worth their weight in gold, not to have an exterminator come every month for at least . We live in South Florida so here, it is a necessity to have pest control, and Florida is just one big ant hill as it is. If you have used these, please tell me.

dog deterrent
Our neighbors have lost their sons 7&1/2 ft. Python.
The neighbor’s didn’t tell us for a week and now they are acting like it’s no big deal. They said it cannot kill or eat anything bigger than a rat… BULL SPIT!
We are in the county so animal control can do nothing.
We have 2 small dogs and a cat that we have closed off the doggy door (keeping dogs in and safe and keeping snake out)
And are not allowing them to go out without us for protection from this snake.
Our dogs want to play in their own yard!
Are there any deterrents to keep this snake out of our yard and keep our animals safe?
We have checked into snake deterrents for snakes native to our area, but a Python snake is not a native to this country
(Not sure if this stuff will work on a python) and I don’t think I’ll feel safe until it is found.
What can be done?

dog silencer
I was pretty disappointed with cod5 & i dont enjoy online or campaign at all. the maps sucked in cod5, the weapons really sucked. the only map that i like was the rounderhouse & the only thing that i like about the game was the tanks & the ability to call in dogs after 7 kill streak. i thought that cod4 was like 20x better than cod5. but how can i start to like cod5? now no1 plays cod4 online & its very very hard to find a game so i got no choice but to play cod5 but how can i begin to like it? what should i do? the campaign is dead boring for me. im sick of ww2 games..oh yea & the only weapons that i liked in cod5 was the Springfield, the rest sucked!! the dot sight is so so so useless & inaccurate. its better just to use the weapons without anything or perhaps with a silencer. so what should i do to like it? has any1 been like me b4, & not liked cod5 first but then liked it??if you have how did you begin to like it? thx
ye I’ve played Nazi zombies with friends who have finished the game, its really fun but u cant just play that forever. & i got resistance 2 & the online is boring on that game so…..i returned resistance 2

ultrasonic dog
Do anti bark collars like Innotek spray, Petsafe electronic collar or Dogtra no bark collars work for dogs that bark out of fear?
We have tried everything to stop our dog from barking at pedestrians during walks. She just goes crazy barking and wanting to charge them when she sees someone walking/jogging toward us. It’s like she wants to get them before they get her.
It’s really stressful and feel so bad for people who have to cross our path during their walks.
We have tried following techniques, and none seems to work with her. This is the reason I am thinking of resorting to the spray or electronic devices.
1) blocking her view
2) giving her treats
3) sitting her down and tapping her nose with a stern "NO"
4) spraying water
5) ultrasonic sounds
6) running fast by pedestrians
7) having pedestrian stop in front of her, she sniffs gives a few barks then she is ok until another pedestrian comes our way then the cycle repeats again.
We really don’t know what else to do. If anyone has any other techniques that has worked with their dog, I would greatly appreciate the advice. Also if these sprays or electronic devices work on dog that deter dogs that bark out of fear.
FYI: my dog is 15lbs terrier mix & very fearful, however, when in crowd of people like at a coffee shop, she is a mute and just wants me to hold her.
Also, debarking is not an option.
Note: I tried calming her down stroking her, telling her "no" in soothing tone for 3 days straight but that didn’t work for her either. I wished it did.
