neighbors barking dog

When they’re home, it’s all good. But as soon as they leave, it’s non stop bark, bark, bark. I live in an apartment, and complaints to the office have gone unfulfilled. The people are pricks to say the least, and when asked if they might be able to do something about it, they respond "it’s a dog. Thats what they do."

Any suggestions for this problem? Anything I might be able to buy from a store? I’m willing to try anything at this point.

Oh, I should also mention that I have 2 cats and don’t want to use anything that might freak them out. I’m not sure if dog whistles are heard by cats.

And before someone mentions it, I don’t want to move. This is the sweetest place money can rent.

Ok, Sunday morning I wake up and there is this baby bird. Now I’m not 100% sure what kind of bird he is all I know is that he’s mostly black but the wings are starting to turn a dark blue. Anyway we live on the 3rd floor of an apartment bldg when I went to open the door it was just standing there looking at me, I started to walk towards it so that we could leave and he took off and went about 3 ft down the steps. I saw a bigger bird that was resting on the ledge near it so my first thought was "this is just a baby bird learning to fly." That was until we came back that evening and he was still there! So finally I decided to just let it go and no stress about it. So he finally left on Sunday night and stayed gone until yesterday (wed) when I got home from work he was once again just standing at the door!!!!! After being inside for a few hours he began to flop his wings up against the door making scratching sounds like a dog or cat wanting to be let back into the house. This morning when i leave for work sure enough he is sitting right there. I wouldn’t care as much if he wasn’t right in front of my door I don’t want someone to forget he is right there and fling the door open and have him fly inside my house! I have searched online and the only thing I can find is putting up spikes or big sound deterrents that I can’t use because this is not my own property. Any information anyone can give me on how to get rid of it or what this means would really help! Thanks! Only serious answers please this is really getting annoying and I want help!

I brought home a 5 month old American Staffordshire Terrier mix from the shelter Saturday (4-5 days ago) and he’s getting better at housebreaking but will pee inside if he doesn’t go out the second he needs to. He goes in one spot it seems, right by the gate that blocks off the bedroom where the cats are hiding out. What’s the best way to curtail this issue? I’ve thought about moving his bed there since I know dogs don’t’ like peeing where they sleep, would that work? How about a deterrent like bitter apple? Help please! I’m running out of carpet cleaner!
When I catch him I yell NO! and take him out immediately, he stops and then continues outside where he gets ons of praise and treats for doing his business outside. I use vinegar and water after cleaning solution to help diffuse the smells as well, maybe that’s not helping?
Also, we live in an apartment (a large one but still, an apartment) and thus I cannot install a doggy door.

My husband and i want to move in to apartment but the problem is that our 3 little dogs bark when they hear noise. We have worked with them since puppies not to bark. But we still have problems when we are not home or in bed at night for they sleep in there kennels. So i saw this on a web site and i noticed that its suppose to work for multiples dogs. And i really don’t care for bark collars but i need something that is good and will work and good priced.

When my downstairs neighbor’s dog barks to itself for three or four hours every day when she leaves her apartment. I complained to the landlord but he won’t do anything because as long as he’s getting rent money he doesn’t care what goes on.

I assume there are laws against noisy animals but I’m not sure if I should complain to the police or what. Any suggestions? Thanks

i want a dog im just not sure about what breeds to look into. I had a german shepherd akita mix that i had to put down 3 months ago, and it just doesnt feel the same without a dog around. I live in a 2 bedroom garden unit with a small fenced yard. Im also two blocks from the dog park, run everyday, and go hiking every weekend. I want a big dog over 70 pounds energetic, and one that makes a good deterrent without being overly protective. I would get another akita or german shepherd but the summers in nc are pretty harsh on them and my complex has new breed rules i cant have pitts, dobbies, boxers, rotties, GSD or akitas. Anything else is good i was thinking about ridgebacks or a cataholua hound idk what do you guys think???
my gsd/akita mix did fine in a apartment…. danes and mastiffs are too big and to many health problems. grey hounds arent my thing Weimerimers and vizulas wouldnt be bad idk ive found a good ridgeback breeder had has puppies now but i dont want to rush anything

My apartment is really, really dry. I would love a humidifier, and I would like to get an ultrasonic one. However, I have a dog, and I want to make sure she won’t be hurt by this purchase.

I am moving into an apartment and read alot of the reviews online about burglary and vandalism. I am really kind of nervous. I have 2 Siberian Huskies, that honestly would never hurt anything(except maybe a runaway hamster), but they are very intimidating to look at. Now i told my husband i wanted to post a Beware of Dogs Sign in every window of that apartment to warn and steer all the little vandals away, plus the fact that my husband my have to start working nights i want to feel like i at least am doing something. Now, I am not a helpless ninny, We do own firearms and my husband has shown me how to use them, thankfully i haven’t ever had to. But i am confident in that with my dogs and my firearms i am fully capable of protecting the house, i just want a deterrent so as to not have to do so.
Now if i hang this sign and my dogs happen to bite an intruder would i be MORE liable than if i hadn’t hung the sign.
(Not that i even know that my dogs would do this. They would probably lick him and tell him where we keep the good stuff). But i just want to protect myself. I already bought a renters policy to try and be proactive, and i am also investing in a car alarm.

I was wondering if anyone has used the PetSafe Ultrasonic Bark Control Unit with success? I just got a puppy and I am crate training her right now. But I have a problem with her barking when I am in the other room or when I am not home. Her barking is disturbing my neighbors (I live in a very thin walled apartment).

I also have another dog and a cat in the apartment so, I was concerned about the thing being set off and the other animals hearing the sonic noise when they do nothing wrong.. Anyone have success or suggestions?! Thanks

My neighbor will not keep her dogs from barking at early morning hours for hours straight and I am losing sleep over it since I can hear the dogs very clearly through the walls of our apartments and she will not put them outside. I would not like to call someone like the police just yet and hope something I can do myself will solve the problem. I have seen dog whistles and those indoor/outdoor ultrasonic devises that go off when they pick up a dog barking or manually. Would either of these work through the walls of an apartment? Are walls are thin enough that when the dogs are barking, it sounds like they are in my apartment, but I also want something that is quite to humans, so she has no idea that I am doing this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated it
