Neighbor’s Barking Dog – Since 4:30 am

neighbors barking dog

July 3, 2010 @3:48 pm – After I called the police and AC a number of times earlier this year, the barking had diminished considerably and for most of the spring and summer I have been able to relax in my home and yard in relative peace. Today was a bad day, however. The dog started barking early this morning; I was awakened around 6 am but one of my other neighbors said she heard him barking when she came home around 4:30 am I’ve been doing a lot of hard work in my yard and must have been sleeping hard because I didn’t hear it. She said she almost called the police, and I wish she had. I told her next time she hears him barking like that, especially that early, to call the police. Like most of my other neighbors she doesn’t want to get involved although she did sign a statement in which she indicated she’d heard the dog barking on numerous occasions, and had even heard it inside her home; this is significant because they have kids, TVs always on and with 5 people living there and teenage children they have a lot of other noises in their home.

January 15, 2010 @ 3:44 pm – The dog on the left barks very rarely; I call her The Quiet One but her name is Cherokee. The dog on the right is The Nuisance; his name is Harley. Notice how nervous he is and keeps shaking his head and doing that weird thing with his mouth that makes him look deranged. He is not dangerous, just requires more attention and direction from his humans, my neighbors. In this video he is not barking much because I’m approaching the fence. They are starved for attention, but I can’t reward a barking dog with attention. It’s unfortunate because I can’t even pet The Quiet One if The Nuisance is around, which is almost always. As soon as I turn my back and walk away he’ll start barking again, endlessly.

Neighbor’s Barking Dog – Late at Night Again

November 15, 2010 @ 12:52 am – After midnight now, still barking at who knows what. Neighbors have not come out once.

November 4, 2010 @ 11:18 pm – of course you can’t see anything in this video except my screen because I took this standing inside my door at night, but you can hear the obnoxious dog barking. The dog had been going on for a while as I had been sitting in my office (on the same side of the house) trying to get some work completed.

Neighbor’s Barking Dog – Barking for Hours

January 14, 2010 – sometime during the afternoon. Standing inside my back door; the dog had been going on and on for hours at the fence less than 50 feet from my back door. The neighbors never came out to see what the racket was about…

Barking Chained Dogs – the other neighbors

12/28/09 This is the house behind me. They have 3 young dogs tied up. They tied them up just a few days before Christmas. Merry Christmas, doggies.. I can just barely hear these guys when I’m inside my house, but they bark at me when they see me and so when they bark the idiot next door starts barking too. I know, another crappy cell phone video, but I finally got a batter for my other camera today (01/19/10). These dogs have been out in the below 20 weather with no shelter, sometimes in the rain…Their tethers are very short and they can’t run around like dogs should. I can already tell that they are feeling the effects of neglect. I’ve already called animal control, but nothing changed. I called the police on these particular neighbors before because in the summer of 2008 they had a tiny puppy tied up in this same spot, and the tether was wrapped around a tree, it was mid summer (probably high 90s), the puppy had no water, covered with fleas…I heard it howling when I stepped out of my back door so went to check it out and then called the cops. When the puppy got older it would chew through the nylon tether and come into my yard and chase my cats. I have no idea what happened to that dog; just disappeared one day (no, it wasn’t me that did it).

ultrasonic dog

im buying a collor for my dog that works by sending out an ultrasonic signal that only dogs can hear when activated by the barking
– Dogs quickly learn that their barking causes this irritating sound and stop barking to stop the noise, does this work and how long would it take for my dog to get used to this and stop his barking

dog silencer

I can’t stand listening to my neighbor’s dogs anymore – three lots back right up to my house and there are a total of 5 barking dogs. They are within 25 feet of my house. I’ve been reading about these "dog silencers" that are supposed to emit a high pitched noise and stop them from barking. I have to wonder if that could really work. Does anyone have experience with this or have any other ideas (please don’t tell me to poison them…or my neighbors!).

Thanks
I’m concerned about the effect they might have on my kitten who spends time on the porch. She would be behind the silencer but still outside.

My neighbors know their dogs bark all day, they just don’t care. I did report one of them recently and now they are angry at me. They have to actually be barking when security comes, one time they were the other they weren’t. It’s very frustrating – and, yes, they are bored.

ultrasonic dog

It seems that everyone on my block has a barking dog. They all bark at the same time and the noise is unbearable. This morning I was walking my kids to school when one lady down the street comes out with her pitbull. He’s standing in the driveway barking like crazy looking like he wants to rip us all to shreds. Mind you I have a 2 yr old with me. There’s nothing between us. She just stands there looking and has no intention whatsoever of calling her dog back. I can’t stand when people say their dog won’t bite, because I’ve heard it before and was bitten. Hey if it has teeth it will bite. Anyway I don’t want my kids afraid of dogs, but this type of thing does not help. I hate having to traumatize my daughter with "if this dog attacks I’ll fight it get your brother and run home," especially after I told her all dogs aren’t mean.
All dogs don’t have the same temperament. No one reported anything. I think if you had your kids around this dog you’d be a bit concerned. I’m not picking on pits there are all types of wild barking dogs around here, there’s no way to tell if they are going to bite or not. That happens to be what breed the dog was.
Again, NO ONE IS BASHING PITBULLS. That’s not why I asked this question, please no more pics of your pooches. I like dogs myself, I’ve owned plenty. I’ve owned enough to know that you can not read the mind of an animal and you have no idea what they will do at any given moment.

I’ve been living next to 3 barking dogs for more than a year now, some of it I was away from home.

But they bark when people walk past as they come home from work, the house is right next to the park so many people come and go even late in the night.
