I need something that is safe to put on his skin and wont make him sick or anything.
Ive been to the pet store and seen the bitter apple sprays but was just wondering if there was anything I could just throw together at home. It’ll probably end up being cheaper to buy the spray than it would be to buy and juice that many apples. thanks for the suggestions!
I have a 5 yr old alpha doberman female, that I found out after having her about 2 months that she was trained as an area protection dog/ deterrent. When she is outside in the yard, she is always "looking" into the neighbors yards, and everything she sees that moves gets barked at and she runs the perimeter of the yard like she is possessed. I was told she was trained to do that. I do not know if she would bite anyone who happened to come into her area, because it is gated and no one has ever tried.I have asked several dog trainers about how to get her to stop doing it, with no luck/ideas that work. She is very very loud and the neighbors kids are scared of her. She is very friendly, and so quiet and chill when in the house and out in public that you don’t even notice her. But shes a monster in the backyard. I have tried the whistle technique, bringing her in when she starts the bad behavior, and rewarding her for "quiet". None of it works. I want to be able to be out in the yard with her and my other 3 dogs peacefully. I have had her for a year and no luck. My other 3 dogs do not act like her. They are very good in the yard and occasionally chase a squirrel. Does anyone have any other ideas?
T. Neer, an undergraduate physics major at McMurry University, presents his proposal for designing a watch sized sonic dog deterrent for walkers, runners, and bikers.
My dog weighs 20 lbs. I have heard hundreds of things you can do to break him of this bad habit but I can’t afford to spend a lot of money "guinea pigging" things to resolve the problem. If anyone can offer a solution, it would be deeply appreciated. Thanks for your help.
My lawn is very nice, but not so nice when dogs think it’s their personal bathroom. I have tried several sprinkle products, but when it rains, I have to go back out and do the same all over again when the grass dries. This is why I am asking about the ultrasound. Would appreciate ANY advice/help. Thank you.
I have heard that feeding your dog garlic works, but i have read and asked my vet if it is recommended. He said that it may upset their stomach for it being strong, but i was reading on a website that it breaks down their red cell count…. Does anyone know what is a good natural flea deterrent?
My dog runs up and down the fence because there are three dogs next door. She’s started making mud all the way up the fence.
Is there anything I can do to stop it? Even if i’ve taken her for a walk, straight after she will run up and down the fence. Even if her little eyes are all red and she’s exhausted, she’ll run up and down.
I’ve tried everything I can think of. I live in a two story house so it’s a bit hard for her to realise, because generally by the time i’ve gotten down stairs to stop her, she’ll run up to me.
If there isn’t anything I can really do to stop her behaviour, what can I put there to stop her.
I need suggestions on whether or not a german shepherd or rottweiler would be the best choice for an all around family/deterrent dog. I have a local PSA and SchH club that I want to try out, but I’m definitely not on planning on creating a national level competition dog. Just looking for something that will settle into the house with my fiance and me and that has strong protective instincts and skills which can further be developed through training.
