Update: These neighbors and I had a hearing with the city and the dog was declared a noisy animal. Fines will be imposed upon them if they fail to keep the dog quiet. Thank you for the comments everyone! ——————– Here in Riverside, California, the police do nothing but refer you to Animal Control when complaining about loud animal noises. Once you do that, it is highly unlikely that Animal Services even comes out, let alone does anything about the matter. Once you finally get Animal Services to drive out and witness the problem, it takes weeks for the owner of the dog to receive a letter. This is because once Animal Services witnesses the problem, they go back and eventually mail you forms which you have to fill out and mail back in. Even then, in my situation, the neighbor has done nothing to rectify the problem. I have been recording this nuisance for over 2 months now and have finally received the forms to schedule an administrative hearing to finally get this situation resolved. Once I thought that things started to finally get rolling, I learned that the city of Riverside only schedules 4 hearings a month for animal noise complaints. The soonest my hearing will be is 2 months from now. When I was not able to enjoy my December because of the incessant barking, I sent two anonymous letters (that were weeks apart) to the owner that kindly asked them to address the situation. This is an on going problem I am having with my neighbor and their two dogs for the past 2 years, every time I am in my back yard or even open the door to throw something out this is the welcome I get. When I am inside the house day and night they also bark non-stop at every car, person, animal, leaf or dust that goes by. Figured I should start recording to have evidence and also figured I would share on here to see if anyone else has the same issues and please if you did, tell me how you resolved it.
