ultrasonic dog repeller

My neighbors have just installed an "ultrasonic animal repeller" in their yard that is a nightmare for squirrels, birds and for my precious maltese dogs. This device is not pointed to my yard but my dogs refuse to go out. How can I handle this situation as these neighbors are unapproachable?.

I have a small maltipoo and every time we open the front door he tries to run out. We live on a pretty busy road and hes been hit by a car already once. We are always careful and the only time he gets out is if we have visitors and they dont shut the door fast enough. My husband is sick of having to go catch him and has resorted to just letting him be and one of the neighbors brings him back. If we can’t figure out how to stop him from running, we probally will end up giving him away. Is there a collar that would shock him if he tries to run out. We already have one of those ultrasonic collars that goes off when he approaches the door, but he just raisies his ears and goes for it. I need a collar that will shock him enough to stop him in his tracks. any ideas?

I have been looking at several antibark devices to stop the 5-6 dogs my neighbors have in their backyard from ruining my day by waking me up many times while I sleep.

There are several on the market, including a few on EBay that have mixed feedbacks. Most all are automatic ultrasonic units. One did claim to be better because it was manually activated so other noises won’t set it off.

I have worked with the police/court system on this before and got it to stop. Problem now is that after 1 1/2 of the dogs being stored inside their garage, they have built a fence. Now the dogs are in the backyard again barking.
However it is not as constant as when they were kept out there on chains before. It will be considerably harder to go to court with it this time since they don’t bark over 10 minutes straight like before.

They bark now for a few minutes and just about the time you go to sleep again they fire back up.

And no, killing them is not an option.
I have used ear plugs in the past. Generally I roll over and they fall out. I even tried the expensive wax kind that forms to your ear.

I also have run a fan on high. Problem is the barking is so loud it won’t begin to cover it up. Not even close. A TV set on really loud does good to be over top of it.
These aren’t bark collars, they are boxes that emit sound when a dog barks.

If they bark for longer periods I can file a civil suit. I was close a couple years ago when they agreed to put them in their garage.

My lawyer found a VERY similar case where the person in my shoes won and was the only complainer, right here in my state.
Does anybody here have an recommendations on a specific device? There are about 5 on the market that I see.

Can anyone tell me a good ultrasonic bark stop that will last more than 6 months. I have a viatek and it does not work consistently.

I live in a small community and I have neighbors to the north of me who have I think 5 dogs. Our city code for animals is that you can only have 3 dogs, unless you have a shelter license. I have a shelter/rescue license, but I only have my 2 dogs. I don’t know if my neighbors have one or not. The difficult part about them is that they let their dogs come and go out of their house and they bark constantly when I am out in my backyard, so much that I HATE going in my backyard because that’s all they do. Its a see through fence, bout 4 feet high. I think i’m a good neighbor. I don’t let my dogs bark constantly. I yell at them to be quiet because I don’t want that to happen to me. But my neighbors never yell at their dogs to be quiet. So I’ve tried spraying them with water to get them to stop. Doesn’t work. My other neighbors even went to the point of putting up a 6 foot privacy fence because the dogs would bark at them as well. I went and bought a Dazer 2. Its a ultrasonic repelling dog Deterrent Trainer. Produces a discomforting but not harmful high powered sound, audible to dogs but not to humans. It helps stop the approach of unwanted dogs at up to 20 feet. Also a useful aid in training dogs. I’ve used it on my dogs to train them, it works. I used it on the neighbor dogs and the neighbor saw me use it. I tried to explain to him it doesn’t hurt them, but he didn’t care. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to call the cops on them for being a nuisance. I’d really like to put up a privacy fence, but I don’t know if my landlords would go for that, plus it costs money. Any suggestions or advice would be great. I’m open to everything. Thanks!

My neighbor’s dog would bark all night long and disturbs my right to live in a reasonable environment. At first I wanted to be nice to the neighbor but now it has reached my limit. Dog silencer wont work because his house is far (but the dog bark is so loud). He basically owns this farmland where he keeps his dog to watch and bark at his sheep or somehting so he is away when his dog barks. Writing a note to him wont work as I hear rumors from other neighbors that he is someone you wouldn’t want to argue because he is not nice.(I really don’t think he cares about anything as he lets his dog out there in the rain barking sometimes)
So I found a sheriff website where I can report barking dog problem, great, no answers. I sent out more than 5 letters, still no answers. I came to face the fact that they wont help me. If there is anything left I can do please help. (Please no answers like "shoot the dog with ashotgun" because Im serious and I really want to get this solved.)

I just started summer break and I want to sleep in a little because I’m going to start summer in college in a week. But it’s impossible to sleep in because every morning from 9-10, the f*cking neighbors dog barks nonstop. I don’t even know why but it’s so annoying. I don’t want to cause any trouble to my neighbors. I was thinking about using the ultrasonic sound thing and shutting that f*cking dog up, but I have a 9 year old german shepherd myself and I don’t want her to get punished for doing nothing. The neighbors dog barks ALL morning and at us if we are near the fence which is where the tool shed and stuff is. And yet, my dog stays silent. She never barks back or anything. How do I shut this damn dog up?!

My neighbor has an annoying little dog that won’t shut up. Unfortunately she is also local councilwoman. We have spoken directly to them (before anyone called the police) in the friendliest manner possible and they simply replied that it doesn’t bother them so we should just deal. As she is one the council (and sets the police departments budget) the cops refuse to act. We (and our neighbors) have called the police multiple times but to no avail. Also my roommates have cats so they won’t let me get anything ultrasonic.
While I like the idea of going to the news I live in a small town right next to a large city so all our local stations are the city stations and there’s more than enough other stuff for them not to care. I’m not gonna lie I’ve thought about hitting it with a paintball gun or something but I couldn’t bring myself to abuse an animal.

I have two very large vegetable gardens, both with fences as tall as I am, with additional chicken wire for extra protection. Yet still, the plants were in the garden for only a couple hours and were eaten to the ground. This is my first year at my new house, at my old house I had completely animal proofed my garden (multiple fence barriers, human & dog hair around borders, etc, and I even made a fishing line contraption which seemed to work extremely well). I *thought* that my new garden was very animal proof (as much as you can, anyway). I also have an incredible amount of snakes in my gardens, to the point that I have to watch where I step, which I thought would be a deterrent to any little critters. Our neighbors cat also spends endless hours snoozing around the fences. We live in a very wooded area, with pretty much every animal you can think of.

Some of the other things I do to keep them out: Marigolds, chives plants, human & animal hair around borders, sprinkling garlic powder & cayenne pepper.

So basically looking for any new suggestions on keeping animals away!

My neighbor’s dog is left outside in his backyard all day. During that time, he barks incessantly. I cannot even turn on the television in my home or it will trigger crazy barking from this beast. When I go outside, the dog barks, growls, and acts as though it wants to kill me even though it has seen me a 1000x in my yard.

I have tried to talk to my neighbors and ask that they do something on numerous occasions. Nothing has happened. I called the police once because there is a dog barking ordinance in our city. But, the police told me it is very difficult to enforce since you have to show extraordinary barking over a long time (even though the police heard and saw the beasts angry, callous yowling and growls).

In addition, I have attempted everything from a ultrasonic bark control gadget to saying nice things to the beast to screaming in fury at him. Nothing works. I am at my wits end and want some peace in my own home.
