A question about ultrasonic trainers?

dog barking deterrent

Has anyone used a PetSafe PBC00-11216 Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent or any other ultrasonice training product? One of our dogs is a Aussie/Bassett mix and he has developed the habit of barking nonstop when he is outside. The neighbors are complaining and we need to do something.

No shock, ultrasonic dog bark collar?

ultrasonic dog

My dog stays mostly outside, and she barks at every car, every person, and absolutely everything. I have gotten a noise complaint from our neighbors, and I have about two weeks to improve. I was wondering about the effectiveness of a ultrasonic collar. It is supposed to produce a high frequency sound that irritates the dog to make it stop barking. I would never use a shock collar on my dog, I think it is cruel and unnecessary. I would like to eventually only have to tell her to stop barking, but for now, I don’t have enough time to work with her. Like I said, I don’t want to hurt her with a shock collar. I also have a limited budget. Thank you for your opinions/thoughts/suggestions!

What ultrasonic frequency can I record to a CD to play at my neighbors dog from my side porch stereo. This dog has been a constant unbearable barking nuisance and I want to play it some painful frequency in response.
The neighbors have been told about their dog problem. To no avail. This is a house kept "Yorkie" that can be heard all day long as the neighbors are seldom at home. I’m sure the dog is well taken care of but it barks ALL day long from inside the house.

How do you say this en Español?

I bought an ultrasonic barking deterrent for the crazy dogs next door. When the dogs bark, the box makes a sound that humans can’t hear, but apparently it annoys the dogs. The only thing is that people shouldn’t put their ears close to the box when it makes the ultrasonic sound because it can cause ear damage. So I want to attach a note in Spanish (the neighbors are Mexican) saying:

"When the dogs bark, keep your ears away from this box."

How would you write this note in Spanish?
Thanks for the responses! It’s amazing how many different ways there are to say the same thing!

BTW I don’t think it’s really dangerous… after all, it’s not like anyone will be standing there with their ears next to the box, so maybe I shouldn’t put a note at all… but the English instructions do warn you not to put your ear next to it when it goes off, so I feel like I should say something.

Also, since someone asked — the box will be attached to the fence, which is on my property, but it will be facing their yard.

hmmm…

I adopted a 1 1/2 year old chiweenie a month ago and he chews EVERYTHING. Just within the last week, he has discovered chewing electrical chords too. I started to crate him whenever I leave the house, but he will bark and wimper until I get back (which I dont get because he is crate trained! It is not like hes never been in one before!).

I want to be able to leave him by himself for an hour when I go to get groceries without crating him….so I heard that pet stores sell this spray that you use to stop your dog from chewing. Does this stuff actually work? Are there other things that can be used besides the deterrent spray? I heard also that clove oil may work too? Thanks!
I crate him for bed every night and he does have a lot of toys to play with…he plays with all of them and enjoys them, but he is constantly looking for other things to chew. I’m not sure it is separation anxiety because he chews when I am home too!
OH and the reason I dont want to crate him when I am shopping/at work is because when I crate him any other time besides bedtime, he will yip and bark from the moment I leave till the moment I get home. I live in an apartment and I am afraid the neighbors will complain!

I have been listening to my neighbor’s dogs bark for 2 hours straight now and I am getting desperate. Has anyone tried these products that emit a high pitched sound when the dogs bark? I have heard mixed reviews and they are expensive, so I thought I’d get a couple of opinions/recommendations before I spend .

Also – for the record – I am a dog LOVER. I have a (very well behaved and QUIET) German Shepard. I like my neighbors, so I don’t want to do anything like call the cops or start an argument over this. I just want a little peace and quiet. I bought my house because of the back yard, and ever since these dogs moved in next door, neither me or my dog have been able to enjoy it.

Thanks for any suggestions!

dog silencer

My dogs bark all day long while I’m at work, which is obviously driving my poor neighbors insane!! The citronella bark collars worked for awhile until my dogs figured out how they work, and now they maneuver the collars so they don’t go off when they bark (smart little suckers)… I recently saw the Dog Silencer Pro – you can read abotu it at http://www.ultimatebarkcontrol.com/DS_Pro.htm – my question is:
Has anyone used this device who can tell me if it works or not?

Thanks!!!!
PLEASE don’t answer my question until you actually look at the description of the item. The item does NOT use shock therapy, and is NOT a collar at all. If you’re not willing to read the question, don’t bother answering!

I have a 5 yr old alpha doberman female, that I found out after having her about 2 months that she was trained as an area protection dog/ deterrent. When she is outside in the yard, she is always "looking" into the neighbors yards, and everything she sees that moves gets barked at and she runs the perimeter of the yard like she is possessed. I was told she was trained to do that. I do not know if she would bite anyone who happened to come into her area, because it is gated and no one has ever tried.I have asked several dog trainers about how to get her to stop doing it, with no luck/ideas that work. She is very very loud and the neighbors kids are scared of her. She is very friendly, and so quiet and chill when in the house and out in public that you don’t even notice her. But shes a monster in the backyard. I have tried the whistle technique, bringing her in when she starts the bad behavior, and rewarding her for "quiet". None of it works. I want to be able to be out in the yard with her and my other 3 dogs peacefully. I have had her for a year and no luck. My other 3 dogs do not act like her. They are very good in the yard and occasionally chase a squirrel. Does anyone have any other ideas?

My Neighbors Barking Dog

This is what I hear when I simply walk into my own back yard. This incessant barking can go on for hours at a time. The owners seem ignorant to the fact that they are violating our local town’s dog (barking) ordinances. I wonder what they would do if they had to listen to this hour after hour like I have had in the past.
