I’ve read about ways to keep squirrels away from pumpkins @ Halloween, but most of the ideas are not safe for pets. Moth balls are toxic to pets if they eat them, peppers can be very irritating if eaten, inhaled or get in the eyes. The squirrels have eaten vegetables, flowers, come up on my porch and destroy things and tear into the garbage( chewed a hole in the plastic can). They are now destroying the kids’ carved pumpkins. I really don’t want to kill the squirrels, but I’m almost to that point. I’ve used a critter deterrent that has peppers etc. and it works sometimes. So please HELP.
He has tried professional training, to no avail. My son just purchased a "Pet Safe Bark Control" system to use on his dog. However, as we also have a dog and cats, too, my husband is adamant against this, saying it will affect our pets and it’s not humane. It works by sending an ultrasonic sound every time his dog barks. We haven’t opened the box yet —- would love some opinions/thoughts. Son says the dog is extremely resistant to training.

I’m asking in here so i may get biased answers but i am asking to put the dog love aside for this question and for people who have owned both dogs and cats to consider answering with their experience. I don’t know how active the cat and other-pets sections are so i’m asking here…
I was watching a documentary about mice earlier [i didn't know they were so interesting... ] and i was wondering if you had mice or rats in the area, would you get a dog or cat to act as a natural deterrent and predator for them?
My family had a collie when i was young that used to catch a few mice during the night.. traditionally not a dog known for it, but he was good at it until he was shot by a farmer…
Anyways, for anyone who knows, which would be better for ratting and catching mice and why?

i want to get one of those bug repellent things that plug into the wall, but some say they repel mice and I am worried it will bother my pet bunny, it says safe for pets, but I am not sure if that is just for cats and dogs. Hlelp?
I mainly want it to act as a deterrent, but be able to back up it’s bark too. I’m fairly laid back and need a laid back dog too. I have two mini schnauzers so it’ll need to get along with other pets. Any suggestions?
